Bhonsla Mahal, Bhonsla Ghat

Bhonsla Mahal on the Ghat was built by Bhonsla Maharaja of Nagpur in 1795 CE. There is a long verandah on the upper part of this fort type Mahal supported by pillars. The entrance to this Mahal is on the Ghat side. The Raghurajeshvara and Lakshmi-Narayana temples are also situated in the premises of Bhonsla Mahal. Two depictions of lion with four elephant figures in stone on the Mahal are the symbolic representation of victory of four Mughal palaces by the great king Chhatrapati Shivaji of Maharashtra.
