Organized in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.
The demonstration-lectures were held at Jnana-Pravaha and the stage performances at Swatantrata Bhavan, Banaras Hindu University.
Following plays were staged during the festival:
1. Vikramorvashiyam (Sanskrit) by Jnana-Pravaha, Varanasi (Directed by Krishna Kant Sharma).
2. Duta Ghatotkacham (Hindi) by Pratibha Sanskritik Sansthan, Delhi (Directed by Bhumikeshwar Singh).
3. Bhagavajjukiyam (Hindi) by Nipa Rangmandali, Lucknow (Directed by Surya Mohan Kulshreshtha).
4. Ritusamharam (Manipuri) by Chorus Repertory Theatre, Imphal (Directed by Ratan Thiyam)
5. Vikramorvashiyam (Sanskrit) by Sopanam, Thiruvananthapuram (Directed by Kavalam Narayana Panikkar)
