Prof. R.C. Sharma Chair for Art & Archaeology

With the aim to contribute in the furtherance of higher researches and adding new dimensions to the study of Indian Art and Archaeology through certificate courses for budding scholars, explorations, excavations and documentation of potential sites, and also to cherish the memory of an eminent scholar of Indology and Former Hon. Director & Acharya of Jnana-Pravaha Late Prof. R. C. Sharma, a Chair was created in 2012 with the renowned pre-historian and archaeologist Prof. Vidula Jayswal as its first Fellow. Limited number of young archaeologists is enrolled for the certificate course imparting theoretical and practical training by experts of the concerned fields. Several projects of exploration, excavation and documentation are taken up under this prestigious Chair with the permission of Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi.
